What does 'Trauma-Informed' mean? 

Being trauma-informed means creating safety and trust in your work.
It involves offering choices, enhancing client agency, and collaborating with clients.

It means never assuming we know, no matter how much we know about their Type, Subtype, Lines, or Instinctual Sequence. 

We specifically avoid pathologising the Ego, yet at the same time we do not get drawn in by the Type Ideal, Anti-self Actions and Traps.

We help clients uncover their deeper goals and make meaningful progress towards them.

Enneagram Misuse Can 
Harm Self-Identity

Many individuals come to us after years of unsuccessful talk therapy.

They hope the Enneagram might finally help them understand "what is wrong with them".
This searching is something that usually stems from a complex trauma (CPTSD) background.

In the most well-intentioned but unskilled hands the Enneagram can be used badly.

If we seek esteem or security in applying it, we risk harming clients' sense of identity, and increasing their suffering, shame and hopelessness.

Ingrid Hurwitz 

M.A., PhD - The Cultivation of the Inner Observer - University of Johannesburg). IEA-Accredited Enneagram Teacher, IEA-Accredited Enneagram School. 
Helping clients create intelligibility, meaningfulness and manageability.

Ingrid has over 25 years of experience in coaching, counselling, and facilitating real and meaningful change in 1:1 individual, small group, and organisational settings. She has a background in the Social Sciences and a Transdisciplinary PhD that brings together Traumatology, the Enneagram, 'second generation' Cognitive Science, and Spirituality. The integrative NeuroAffective Relational Model® (NARM®), her Hypnotherapy (SAIH), Imago® training and lifelong personal spiritual journey inform her approach to working with the deeper psychological dimensions of the Enneagram.

She serves love, sacredness and essential wholeness as a Place-of-Wellness keeper in our fragmenting and troubled times.
