I have known Ingrid Hurwitz since 2019 as we both have an interest in training, coaching and facilitation of leadership programmes using the Enneagram.

Besides collaborating with Ingrid on delivering leadership programmes for clients and coaching senior execs, I have attended and participated in her Enneagram programmes over the past few years.

I have found her to be an amazing teacher, very knowledgeable with an unselfish, generous sharing spirit.  

Ingrid’s work, both as a Facilitator and Coach is marked by practical performance-boosting work that is always contextually relevant.

She has the gift of using her deep Enneagram knowledge, which has been recognized by the number of students and coaches that attend her accredited programmes from all over the world, but she focuses intently on the client’s life world and their reality and challenges, and uses the Enneagram knowledge and insights to explore possibilities of change for the client.

Unlike what has become fashionable now, as the knowledge of the Enneagram spreads and people are typed and boxed into particular types, Ingris teaches using the Tri-type and the Centres of Expression to bring the Enneagram alive to her clients.  

I, like many other teachers and associates, have found Ingrid to be very ethical and respectful, and her approach is fully client-centric.  

In her coaching, Ingrid is known to push clients out of their comfort zones by being quite direct, but in a very humane way. She can be quite challenging while always holding the space for he coaches with sympathetic kindness and understanding.

My perspective on this is also personal. I had the opportunity to experience Ingrid’s work through the Women in Leadership programme at CCBA, and I am continuing my own development journey through the 5D® Enneagram Coaching course. Across both experiences, I have seen first-hand how she connects deep insight with practical application. She works with what is real in the client’s world and helps turn reflection into meaningful movement, growth, and better performance.
 
Although Ingrid has an exceptional command of the Enneagram, she does not use it in a way that boxes people in or reduces them to a label. She keeps her focus where it belongs: on the client’s life, patterns, pressures, relationships, and growth. Where it is useful, she works with deeper dimensions such as TriType®, not for complexity’s sake, but to increase flexibility, accuracy, relevance, and usefulness.
 
Ingrid is deeply ethical, respectful, and client-centred in her approach. She creates a space where people can think honestly, see themselves more clearly, and move forward with greater agency. Ingrid Hurwitz (M.A., PhD., Johannesburg, South Africa)

Ingrid is an Enneagram teacher, coach and leadership development consultant with over two decades of experience in Human Potential work.

Her background includes Strategy Consulting (Monitor, now part of Deloitte) as well as leading corporate service functions, including Transformation and Sustainability (FirstRand), Learning and Development, and Leadership Development (FNB). She has been consulting independently with a team of world-class associates since 2015. 

Ingrid uses and teaches the Enneagram in alignment with trauma-sensitive principles and using powerful experiential processes to enable individual and collective transformation.

She recently defended her trans-disciplinary PhD (University of Johannesburg, publication 2026 pending) integrating the Enneagram, Cognitive Science, and Spirituality, and is a frequent speaker at Enneagram Conferences and Summits.
